Social and Emotional Learning is one of our top priorities at Ebbets Field Middle School and can be seen throughout our school community. Teachers begin each lesson with a "feelings check in" utilizing the mood meter to build students' emotional vocabulary and raise awareness to any challenges that need to be addressed. Teachers are trained by Leader In Me licensed professionals and engage students in the Leader In Me curriculum every Thursday during advisory to learn skills around time management, growth vs. fixed mindset, emotional regulation, perseverance, and more. Students receive mandated counseling services from our Guidance Counselor, Mr. Meeks and non-mandated counseling with parental consent from our Social Worker, Ms. Cooper. Additionally, with parental consent, students can receive mental health counseling services through insurance by our on-site partners, Interborough Developmental and Consultation Center.
